Obama to Send More Troops to Afghanistan
After months of struggling to make a decision on if to send more troops to Afghanistan, President Obama has decided to send 34,000 more troops to support the war in Afghanistan.
According to a post at HotAir.com, McClatchy is reporting that Obama has decided to send an additional 34,000 troops to Afghanistan after months of trying to determine the next move.
Oddly enough, the Obama won’t announce this decision until December 1st. Apparently, the Obama administration wants to speak with several Democrats who are worried about the cost. This is laughable as the Democrats are pushing to add an additional $1.8 trillion in spending for health care and are talking about increasing the ceiling on the national debt to cover health care and other programs.
This is a decision that the Obama administration has been struggling with for several months after General McChrystal requested more troops to support the war in Afghanistan. The Obama administration has been struggling with determining the Afghanistan war strategy while attempting to appease anti-war supporters.
America needs to stop the infighting over policy and politics when it comes to war. In war, you need to be all in or all out. You can fight to win or you don’t fight. Our troops deserve commitment from the President and not the bear minimum support required to not lose political points.
