As we reported earlier today, the current house version of HR 3200 will cost America $1.8 trillion according to the CBO.  There is an alternative bill proposed by Republicans that would cost the American taxpayer $61 billion over 10 years, which is $1.7 trillion less than the house bill being voting on this weekend.

The CBO scored a substitute amendment to H.R. 3962, the Affordable Health Care for America Act, that would cost only $61 billion over 10 years or roughly 6% of the cost of the Democrat sponsored bill being forced down the throat of the American people.

This bill does not attack our freedom by forcing Americans to buy health insurance. 

Additionally, the bill provides for over $41 billion in savings from tort reform which isn’t even addressed in the Democrat sponsored version of the bill.

The problems that most liberals have with this bill is that it doesn’t create hundreds of new federal agencies to control the delivery of health care, but takes a few commonsense measures that would reduce the cost of health insurance for everyone without forcing our children into debt or relying on tricks and lies to hold down the cost of the bill.

Americans need to ask themselves, why would we spend $1.7 trillion to create a huge federal buracracy when we can reduce the cost of healthcare at a much greater cost.  At the very least, we should implement smaller measures to gauge their impacts before allowing the government to take over a large amount of our economy.

There have also been numerous attempts by House and Senate Republicans to add amendments to the bills with specific language denying public finance insurance for illegal immigrants.  All of those attempts have been defeated by the Democrats.

You can probably expect to see some language make it into drafts of final bills excluding public dollars to fund insurance for illegal immigrants as most voters are against providing it even if they are for some form of public option.  Which doesn’t explain the Democrats insistence that no such language is in the various bills or President Obama declaring that his plan wouldn’t cover those people in the country illegally.

Once language is inserted into the bill, then Americans don’t have to worry about providing publicly funded insurance to illegal immigrants right?

Texas had a law that denied funds for public education to children in the country illegally.  The Supreme Court ruled in Plyler v. Doe that the Texas state law was in violation of the constitution stating that ”as illegal immigrant children are people “in any ordinary sense of the term”, and therefore had protection from discrimination”.

The President is either trying to mislead the American people or is ignorant of the fact that in Plyler v. Doe, the Supreme Court insured that the legislature would not be able to stop illegal immigrants from getting free or subsidized insurance if it is offered to the public in general.

This alone is enough reason to oppose any public option to be included in healthcare reform.

The next time you hear a politician say that illegals will not be covered under a public option, feel free to shout out either “You lie!” or “You are ignorant!”.  However, shouting out “You are ignorant” is probably closer to the truth.

HR 3200 Will Cover Illegal Immigrants - Despite claims from several people in congress, the health care reform bill will cover illegal immigrants according to the congressional research service.  This is exactly why our representatives need to read the bills they are supporting.  If they have read it, they are misleading us.

ABC and NBC Show Their Bia Proudly - Media companies make money selling ad space and ad time.  However ABC and NBC are refusing to allow ads that are critical of the President’s health care reform agenda.  The article contains links so you can view the ad and see if you think it is any more misleading than the ads they show that are in favor of the health care reform plan.

National Debt Set to Double - Early in the week, the Obama administration indicated that the 10 year deficit would be approximately $9 trillion, which was $2 trillion more than they predicted two months earlier.  This means that in 2019, the national debt will go from almost $12 trillion to $21 trillion.  The yearly interest alone on that debt will be more than the stimulus bill.

Ted Kennedy Wants to Rollback a Law He Demanded - Prior to his death, Ted Kennedy wrote a letter to the Massachusetts state government  asking that they change state law to allow the governor to appoint a senator to an empty congressional senate seat.  The problem is that in 2004 he lead the charge to change state law to remove the power of interim appointments from the governor.  At the time, Mitt Romney was governor and Kennedy didn’t want Romney to be able to appoint a Republican to the empty seat if John Kerry won the 2004 presidential election.  Apparently the need of the people to have representation is secondary to the needs of the party.

In several town halls throughout the country, Democrat congressmen are pushing the myth that Illegal Immigrants will not be covered.  They point to a section of the bill that specifically prohibits the awarding of affordability credits to illegal immigrants. 

CRS also notes that “undocumented aliens” who have a “substantial presence” in the US would be required to buy health insurance (page 4) through the exchanges in HR3200.

However, as the CRS points out, the bill does nothing to require anybody to prove that they are a U.S. citizen before enrolling in the public option.  In fact, the CRS indicates that the bill requires Illegal Immigrants to enroll in the health insurance exchanges if they have a substantial presence in the U.S.

You can read the report here.  As more and more Americans get a chance to view and understand the bill, it becomes more and more obvious why the Obama administration and the Democrat controlled congress wanted to vote and pass the bill before it could face any scrutiny.

As Americans, we need to demand that our representatives take the time to read the bills they are voting on and allow the American people to view bills.  Even if they are for the idea of the bill, they and we need to understand how that idea will be implemented.

However, ABC is refusing to air an ad nationally that is critical of the current health care bill.  Spokespeople for ABC have refered to ABC’s policy of not showing ads the “present a partisan position on a controversial public issue”.  Of course, they don’t see a problem with airing a one hour presidential infomercial on the health care plan or devoting an entire day of programming to pushing the democrat’s health care agenda.

NBC indicated that they would air the commercial once some of the factual claims can be substantiated.  There doesn’t seem to be anything inaccurate in the ad.

We are coming to a point that the national media is openly refusing to allow advertising that presents views contrary to their own political agenda.  This type of media bias is only a few steps away from censorship.  It is hard to believe that the American media is openely trying to silence views opposed to the government.

The Whitehouse blog is telling supporters of Obama’s health care reform that there is disinformation about health care reform out there and they want your help in finding it.

These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation.  Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help.

They ask that if you get any emails from friends or see things on the Internet that are “fishy”, please report it to flag@whitehouse.gov.  If I hadn’t seen this for myself, I would have thought somebody was trying to push some crazy conspiracy theory.

Here is one of those “fishy” things you can send them.  The president continues to assure the American people that you can keep your current coverage if you like it.  However, the text of HR 3200 clearly states that you can keep your coverage unless your insurance company adds anybody new to the plan or changes anything about the plan.  You can see the text on page 16 of the 1,018 page document.  Note that the link is to the official House document site and not another blog or website.

They way it is stated it would seem that if your employer hires another employee, they can’t enroll them in the same plan that you have or the plan is no longer grandfathered which then pushes you to the public plan.  It would seem that it would be the same if the insurer tried to change any of the terms of the plan such as adding or removing things that are covered.

I’ve sent a link to the house bill to White House blog stating that I found this “fishy” document on the Internet that seems to contradict many of the things that the president is saying in the daily television appearances.  I expect to be visited by uniformed ACORN police or men-in-black later today.

I would suggest that if you receive any email or find a web site supporting the take over of our private health-care system, you report it to the government as some sort of “fishy disinformation”.
